STUART, FL – MIATC – In June of this year, the Board of Directors of the Marine Industries Association of the Treasure Coast welcomed six new members. Each of the new Directors brings a unique skill set, experience and expertise to bear in the interests of the marine industry. Members are from industry, government, business and educational camps which allows for the diversity of opinion and perspective.

At the same time, the Board thanks three members who decided to roll off the Board commitments. All have agreed to remain on committees and stay engaged in the Association.

In July, the Annual Member Dinner was held at the Flagler Building in downtown Stuart with food provided by Ellie’s Deli and the bar donated by Mary Bonner. The President of the Association, Dan Romence (Indiantown Marine Center), gave a motivational speech and presented the President’s Award to Lauren DeLuca (Safeharbor Harborage Yacht Club), the Association Vice President. The Executive Director Award was given by Rob Mac Keen (MACKEEN GROUP LLC) to Mrs. Lauren Abbott (Oceanwide Electronics) for her efforts to update the Association bylaws and Secretary Butch Olsen presented a lifetime achievement award to Mrs. Gail Byrd for her decades of contributions and pioneering of the Treasure Coast Waterway Cleanup. The first annual Partner Award was received by Cassidy Johnson of AllSports Productions for their work as the producer of the Stuart Boat Show, now going into its 52nd year.

While not all Board members could attend due to personal or business commitments, the room was full of like minded, industry supporting people and a great time was had by all. Go to our Board page to learn about the Board and what we do.

This year promises to be a very active one with new initiatives, expansion of services, educational offerings and the hard work of the marine industry!
